One reason has to do with preventing genericide (I suspect that the lawyers for <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermos">THERMOS</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_tennis">PING PONG</a> have been in conact with the folk at Wiki.<br />
